Peabody Elementary is a K-5 school located in the Cooper-Young neighborhood of Midtown Memphis.
It is an optional school with an emphasis on International Studies. All students receive regular instruction in Russian and each year, students study the geography, food, and culture of a different country.
Peabody’s signature event is its annual International Festival. Students perform international song, music, and dance. Inside the classrooms, students also presents in-depth class projects about the countries they are studying.
Peabody Elementary was built in 1912 and has been an integral part of the historic and vibrant Cooper-Young neighborhood for more than 100 years.
This Friends of Peabody Elementary site is maintained by the Peabody PTA. Our involved and dedicated parents, faculty and staff work hard to give every student at Peabody an enriching and caring school environment. We also raise funds to improve technology and school grounds.
