We’re so excited you’re here and want to be a volunteer at Peabody Elementary!
Shelby County Schools is dedicated to keeping children safe, so all volunteers must go through this process, every year (See Level 2 & 3 Renewal process at the end of this post.) There are different levels of approval for different types of volunteering. Check this out!
LEVEL ONE
Speakers, program guests, jurors/judges, test monitors, class readers, one-time volunteers, registration helpers.
The screening for Level 1 volunteers will take place at the school. Please sign in at the front desk in the school’s main office and provide identification when requested by school personnel.
LEVEL TWO
Classroom aides, office assistants, daytime field trip chaperones, hall monitors, safety patrol.
You must got to the school and have this process witnessed by school personal.
- Watch an orientation video
- Complete an online application
- Expect results between 5-7 business days. So, if you know you’re going to chaperone, make sure to do this in time!
LEVEL THREE
Overnight chaperones, interpreters, mentors or tutors, athletic assistants or coaches, after school assistant.
You must got to the school and have this process witnessed by school personal.
- Watch an orientation video
- Complete an online application
- Schedule and complete fingerprinting at the Board of Education
- Expect results between 7-10 business days. If you know you’re going to go on an overnight field trip as a chaperone, make sure to get this done in time!
RENEWAL OF LEVEL 2 & 3
You must got to the school and have this process witnessed by school personal.
