‘Must See’ Thursday Meeting at Peabody Elementary! Action Starts at 5:30!

Good things are going on at Peabody Elementary! This Thursday evening, you don’t want to miss a minute!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18th: 

5:30 p.m. – It’s ribbon cutting on our new basketball court!  See the latest addition to the new Peabody Backyard that we all helped create! Shoot an inaugural hoop!

5:45 p.m. – Doors open to the gymnasium – be the first to get your sign up sheet for Peabody after school clubs! Earliest numbers get preferred choices.  

6:00 p.m. – It’s our monthly Peabody Elementary School and PTA meeting. This month, it’s the 4 C’s: Common Core Curriculum, Civics, Clubs, and Central BBQ! Details here.

The PTA is offering free childcare for children ages 2-4, so parents can focus on the meeting.  Sign up here for a slot.  

 

 

Sign up for Peabody Chess Club!

Get ready for your child to beat you at the king of boardgames – chess!

Club meets in the Peabody library on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. under the direction of Anthony Albonetti, assistant recreation director at Idlewild Presbyterian Church.

Fee: $20 for supplies (one-time fee)

To register, pick up a form on the table inside the front door of the school, fill it out, and return it, along with your $20 to Mrs. Willia Smith in Room 204.

The Cub Reporter Club

Cub Reporters will create a multimedia website all about our favorite school – Peabody Elementary!

Students from the University of Memphis Department of Journalism

and a faculty member from the department will give tips and help with editing!

Cub Reporters is only open to 5th graders and there are just 12 spots.

You can get first priority for this club and others by attending the Title I meeting this Thursday, Sept. 22nd @ 6 pm in the Peabody Cafetorium.
