As we prepare for the Fall 2020 semester, we get ready for a start to the school year unlike any we have seen before. The best thing we can do for our kids this semester is be flexible and and stay informed. Sign up for Shelby County Schools texts. And follow SCS on Facebook. Watch for phone calls and text messages from Peabody Elementary and follow the official Peabody Elementary School Facebook page and our Peabody PTA Facebook page. We know this is a lot of information, but let’s all work together to make this a safe and productive semester!
First. Join our PTA and signup for our weekly email list. You’ll receive updates all year round.
Calendar. Sign up here to subscribe to our constantly updated digital school calendar! Before school begins, only SCS dates are available and updated. But as soon as possible, Peabody’s calendar will be available. We’ll update those in the digital calendar.
Registration. Every child at Peabody must register every year. Learning Options (remote or in-person) must be chosen in Powerschool by July 24, 2020.
Click here for Shelby County School’s Registration page.
The Uniform. Peabody Elementary has a uniform code. We are still waiting for guidance about whether both in-person and students learning virtually will need uniforms. Click this link for uniform guidelines.
School Supplies. Both students learning in-school and virtually need school supplies for their grade level. The school supplies you purchase will be for your child only. There will not be sharing of school supplies in school this year. Students learning virtually do NOT need to purchase masks, disinfectant wipes, kleenex or Ziplock bags. Click here for the Supply List!
Drop off and Pick up. We are still awaiting guidance on drop off and pick up procedures from the school. We will place them here when we have them.
Rainy Day Dismissal & Parking Procedures. We are still awaiting guidance for Rainy Day Dismissal and parking procedures. We will post them here when we have them.
Extended Care Program. We will post information here about extended care when we receive them.
Lunch. We will post information about SCS meals when they become available.

Meeting 2 Grades 3-5 will be Wednesday, July 15th @ 5:30 P.M.

If you are unable to attend your child’s grade meeting, please feel free to attend any day that accommodates you. If you know of any new Peabody families, please share this flyer with them. When joining the meeting, we are asking everyone to place their microphones on mute and place any questions in the Chat Box. We will answer questions throughout the meeting.
The District is asking parents to choose in advance whether or not they will be attending school in-person or virtually so that schools can appropriately balance classes so that some teachers will teach students in the classroom while others will teach students who are at home through the Microsoft Teams platform.
Please download the attached document below for details about each learning option.
