Your kids had a celebrity visit from WREG-TV’s Jim Jaggers for the Go Jim Go Campaign! Jaggers rides his bikes 333 miles across the Mid-South to raise money for LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. This year – the entire campaign raised more than $350 thousand!
Your contributions allowed Peabody Elementary to meet its $1,000 pledge to help the kids of LeBonheur. Our little school was the final stop on the Go Jim Go ride — check out WREG’s video from Peabody.
Also, Peabody dad and pro photographer, Brandon Dill was on hand and captured a ton of fun moments. We put some of his great pictures on our Facebook page. Show your kids and make sure to tag yourselves in any photos!
Thanks again for your generosity and to the Peabody staff who made this campaign possible. #PeabodyCares
At Peabody, our families can dig in.
We want to support our teachers and staff so that we can make our school a great experience for everyone who walks through our school doors.
That’s why we’re asking you to join a team. And we’ve got a lot of them! It might be Room Parents, Watchdogs, Communication, Fundraising, Accelerated Readers, Gardening or even Team Fun! So sign up for one, sign for a few — you can do as much or as little on each team as you want.
And if you’ve already signed up for a team, take a look at this list again. We’ve added a few. We also have a few Peabody PTA Board Positions that could use someone wonderful like you!
Share this with your family — your mother, close family friend or sibling may want to support Peabody, too!
The Peabody PTA will hold our first meeting of the year Monday, August 28. It will be held in the Peabody library from 5:30-6:30pm. You will learn more about what PTA is and what we do, meet the board members and committee leaders, and learn ways to get involved. The board members will review the agenda, and you are welcome to listen in and give feedback.
Whether you can attend the meeting or not, please consider becoming a PTA member. The yearly dues are only $5.00 for individual or $10 for a family. You are not required to do anything if you become a member but are welcome to get as involved as you’d like. The PTA membership and dues help the PTA do great things for our teachers, staff, and school! Hope to see you next Monday!
The Peabody PTA is involved in so many great activities that benefit our Eagles. And communication about upcoming events and important reminders is just one of those services that Peabody PTA provides to our families.
That’s why we’re collecting emails for the 2017-2018 school year, so that you can be as engaged as you can be. But we can’t send you emails until you opt in. Relatives and teachers are encouraged to sign up!
We’ve made it easy. Just click here to opt in!

It only takes attending one music program at Peabody Elementary to know that Jerry Sanders has built something exceptional. As it turns out, Shelby County Schools thinks we’re pretty exceptional, too! The SCS school district was recently selected as one of the top music program districts in the country — and when SCS wanted to highlight it’s very best elementary music programs — Peabody was chosen!
Check out this wonderful video that highlights the best of SCS. If you want to go straight to the section about music, it starts around 22-minutes into the video.
