Welcome to Peabody Elementary!  Whether you are a new or returning parent – all the back-to-school rules can be a little confusing.  We hope this makes it easier:

Registration. Every child at Peabody must register every year. For the first time, registration will take place all online!

Online Registration begins MONDAY, JULY 13TH and will continue for several weeks.

Be aware that if you have never completed an online SCS registration before — you will need to create a new account.  Also, if you do not have the tools necessary to complete online registration (such as a computer, wi-fi access, scanner) or if you are having problems registering – please click this link to find available resources.

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE SHELBY COUNTY REGISTRATION SITE, AS THERE ARE DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS — AS WELL AS KINDERGARTNERS AND RETURNING STUDENTS WHO HAVE CHANGED ADDRESSES.

Proof of Residence. All parents/guardians of all students must provide (2) approved items. These can be scanned and attached in the online registration. Click here for details.  IMPORTANT: Proof of Residence for Kindergartners and new Peabody students must be verified in person at Peabody. Please click here for the dates Peabody will be open to verify documentation. If you are a current Peabody student, but have changed addresses since last registration — you will also need to verify Proof of Residence at the school.

For anyone who needs help with online registration you can receive assistance at Peabody Elementary Tuesday July 21st – Friday July 24th from 10am – 1pm. 

The Uniform.  Peabody Elementary has a uniform code.  We’ve made it easy – click this link for uniform guidelines.

School Supplies.  When we were kids it was so much fun to pick out new pencils and notebooks, but as parents, we know we have to plan ahead if we don’t want it to cost a fortune!  Click here for the Supply List!

Extended Care Program. Click here if you are interested in Before or After Care for your child.

Lunch.  Breakfast and lunch are free to all registered SCS students, regardless of income! Click here for the link to the school menu.

Drop off and Pick up.  Teachers are ready to receive students by 8:00 am.  The school bell rings at 8:15 am. You can bring your child to the room or drop him off in front of the school.  Staff members and our own Peabody Watchdogs are there to help get your child safely out of the car.  Don’t be late – or you’ll have to sign in at Principal Nelson’s office (really!)  The school day ends at 3:15 pm.  Your child will be waiting for you outside the school by 3:15 with his classmates and supervised carefully by his teacher.  It’s quite the logistical marvel.

ARRIVAL

7:45 A.M.-8:00 A.M. Those who want breakfast enter through the cafeteria for breakfast (Free breakfast is offered to any child.)

8:00 A.M. Students start to enter school through main entrance door

8:15 A.M. School begins!

DISMISSAL

3:05 P.M. Day Care/Bus Riders dismissed

3:10 P.M. After School Care dismissed and brought to cafeteria.

3:15 P.M. Car Riders/Walkers dismissed and are waiting for you outside the school!

If there the weather is poor, Peabody implements its Inclement Weather Dismissal Policy.  This means you will need to enter the school and your child will be brought to you for dismissal. This is so our wonderful students and staff do not have to sit out in poor weather waiting for parents to arrive.
