Join the new ‘Family Gathering’ Fridays at Peabody Elementary
It’s a new program at Peabody to promote character education — a few students from one grade level will put on a short presentation on the school’s “Character Word” for the month. This is to encourage conversation about this characteristic at school and in the home throughout the month.
Our fifth grade eagles were brave and put on the initial performance in October on “Responsibility.”
The next performance is this Friday, November 7th @ 7:45 — our fourth graders will present the Character Word “Compassion.”
These short presentations take place on the first Friday of each month — just 5-7 minutes for each presentation. The Community Gathering starts early, too — 7:45 — so our students can get to their work and you can get to yours!
Attendance is completely voluntary (unless your child is part of the presentation!) but we welcome you to join Peabody in this monthly celebration of being the best person you can be!

Inspire a Young Person – College and Career Day at Peabody Elementary!
No – they’re not ready to declare their majors just yet, but elementary students are old enough to start thinking about the future. Sure, most of them want the glamorous jobs – firefighters, athletes, and actors – but now is the perfect time to expose them to a range of professions!
Some studies show that career development is a lifelong path that begins in elementary school. Here are a few simple tips for presenting to young kids.
We’d like you to share your career with our students, and it will only take you an hour! Just sign up for a time by clicking our easy SignUp Genius button below! Have a friend or relative with an interesting job? Share this post with them!
