Summer break is here! It’s time for sleeping in, summer camps and family vacations. And it’s the best time — to keep on reading!
This summer we are just challenging students to read different books and to turn in their list at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.
Each list provided has books that students may read independently or for parents to read with their students.
The reading challenge is not limited to this list but must be an appropriate grade level for your child.
- All returned reading logs will earn your child a pass to a Back-To-School Sock Hop!
- Students will also be able to take AR tests on these books during the month of August!

TITLE ONE PARENT SURVEY
We are gathering donations to create a well-stocked uniform closet for emergencies within the Peabody Eagle Family.
We’re accepting new uniforms and used uniforms in good condition.
Please leave them in the box just outside the office.

This Friday (5/9) is the last day for students to take Accelerated Reader quizzes that will count toward their 4th 9-week goals and year-end prizes. And they have knocked it out of the park this year! As a whole school, they have earned almost TRIPLE the amount of AR points that they did last year!!
Let’s reward their hard work with a great last AR store on Monday, May 19. We need volunteers from 11 am – 1 pm, but if you can only stay for one of the hours, we’ll take it. Sign up here on Volunteer Spot. It’s an easy and fun way to help out before another school year is in the history books!
The end of school year is filled with all kinds of events. Yes, there’s testing. But also, lots of fun stuff.
Please note the changes to the May calendar and all the exciting things the faculty and staff of Peabody Elementary have slated for the remainder of the year!

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9th
Our teachers work so hard everyday … so let’s take this week to thank them!
The Peabody PTA is treating the teachers to lunch at Outback Steak House next week. The teachers will attend lunch on either Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Please sign-up for a volunteer slot, so your teacher can attend the luncheon. Just fill out the paper form that was sent home in your child’s folder!

Plus, there’s one more way you and your child can show teachers some love — with a Bear Hug!
The PTA is putting up a card at the front entrance for all students and parents to sign. Leave a special for your teacher or the Peabody staff.
We are also offering a drop-off box for anyone to write a special note for to Peabody teachers and staff for what they do for our school and students! Drop it off by the card and all notes will be delivered to the teachers at the end of the week.
