Memphis City Schools has been making some big changes in the way our children eat – produce from local farmers, using items grown in school gardens, and just generally healthy food for our kids! 

Join Memphis as it participates in its first Food Day!  This is part of a national effort to raise awareness about healthy eating.

It’s official.  Peabody Elementary has the best backyard on the block!  The new basketball court is in place and ready for play!

The ribbon has been cut on the court and the kids began playing immediately (OK – they were already playing before the ribbon was cut!)

The new court is just the latest addition.  The beginning of the school year brought a new shade structure and a new produce garden. Many, many hands have worked on this backyard… from watering to digging to coordination to grant writing to fundraising!  

All totaled – this marks $45,000 of improvements!!  

We want to give special thanks to Peabody PTA president Chris Kelley and past co-president Mandy Grisham for their massive coordination effort to improve the backyard. 

Way to go Eagles! You and your families raised more than $3,500 for school technology in our annual City Saver coupon book fundraiser! 

Now here’s the fun part – the reward!
